Ramblings

Illustration & Print Design, 2025A long, rambling book on toy horses. Inside is a collection of 50 drawings based on toys found in online museum archives. The drawings are forwarded by a rambling essay on toy horses and the act of play. In the back of the book is an index with information about the object each drawing is based on.

I call it “ramblings on” because it is less formal and more confused than “notes on”. The essay jumps from Walter Benjamin and mimetic faculty, Taoism, Alexander the Great, Jung, cave paintings and Brothers Grimm. This book is like a long drawn out thought process where I try to make sense of my own fascination with toy horses through the acts of drawing and writing.
